Onion: 2 medium (sliced)
Garlic paste: 1/2 tsp
Ginger paste: 1/2 tsp
Turmeric: 1/4 tsp
Black pepper: 1/4 tsp
Cashews or almonds: 10 (crushed) optional
Yogurt or buttermilk: 1/3 cup
Cream: 1 tbsp optional
Oil: 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Directions:
- Heat oil on medium heat, add the onion and sauté to translucent.
- Combine the yogurt or the buttermilk with garlic, ginger, turmeric, salt, and nuts.
- Add the yogurt mixture to the onion, and fry on low heat till the oil separates.
- Remove from the heat and add the pepper and cream.
